Lesson 6
A Change of Space and Fresh Air
How to use a quiet change of scenery to help you both reset when you feel stuck.
When crying lasts a long time, it can feel as though fatigue and tension are trapped inside the four walls of the room. In those moments, both your nervous system and your baby's can reach a tipping point.
Sometimes, simply leaving the room gives you both a small, necessary pause. A new space, softer lighting, quiet outside sounds, and a few slow breaths can help break the cycle of exhaustion.
The rest of this lesson is part of the guide.
Five steps, the reason it can help, and an essential safety note — about three more minutes of reading. Along with eleven other lessons and the audio version of each.
Worried about your baby right now? The safety guide is free and always will be — no payment, no email.
This lesson is educational, not medical advice. It does not diagnose or treat anything, and nothing here promises a technique will stop crying or ease colic. If you are worried about your baby, contact your doctor, midwife, or local health service. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
